In the usual setting of a neurological practice, one only sees a snapshot, but not a Parkinson's course over the course of the day. Obtaining the information is usually very time-consuming and yet only provides a glimpse, usually not a very realistic one, into the everyday life of those affected in their familiar surroundings. Simple measuring systems, mobile phone apps and sensors provide us neurologists with excellent data, give an objective insight into the daily routine under everyday conditions and enable a personalised approach that leads to an individual, tailor-made therapy.
Individual observations in the home setting provide a much clearer picture of different sensitivities at different times. A simple system of permanent measurements using sensors on the arms, legs and belt (five-sensor measurement) shows changes throughout the day. We are now offering all of this. This will revolutionise the chronic treatment of Parkinson's. We can react much better and faster to changes in the daily rhythm and are the first centre in the EU area to set a new benchmark for personalised treatment.
